Be Quick, Be Bold, Be Useful is truly what we practice here on a daily basis.  By doing just these things, Storeside was born and also how we continue to live and breathe. Whenever  one of us starts a project, we try to think of these three basic things.  It helps us stay focused on who we truly are and what is it that we are trying to achieve.  It’s easy to get distracted…stop looking at what others are doing!

For us, we remind ourselves that Storeside is a UTILITY.  We are a tool, aiming to help our users discover the clothes that they want and love, that’s it!

So, with that said… Just go out there and start something, run with it, and ALWAYS finish it.  Happy Monday!

  2. 3.

    and lastly…

Apply this idea to almost anything.  Be USEFUL and be of service to yourself and to others.

  8. Nuts & bolts, Unfinished Plywood, and Fine Clothing.

Unionmade, a local SF boutique has been able to identify and cater to the new generation of men who aren’t afraid to care what they look like.  Unionmade in San Francisco is located at 493 Sanchez St. on the border of the Mission and Castro districts and was voted the country’s 10 best independent men’s store by GQ Magazine and San Francisco’s best men’s store by SF Weekly.  I love what owner Todd Barket has done with the look and feel of the store; the raw unfinished wood and obvious nuts & bolts give this place a very manly feel, yet it’s very friendly and shop-able!

They offer a long list of quality, well-made brands in clothing, shoes, accessories, grooming products, and even vintage books at a fair price.  Unionmade offer’s both fine and casual clothing from brands like Gant, Levi’s Made & Crafted, Alden, and Raleigh Denim.

Unionmade’s Todd Barket has given his community a great place to shop and believes in providing products only made from the best material; “Our ultimate goal with Unionmade is to bring people and ideas together through an evolving mix of limited editions, exclusives, and the highest quality staples offered in a comfortable, well-designed retail environment.”  Check them out! www.unionmadegoods.com.

Are you all ready for Fall trends?  We definitely are and on the lookout for the hottest trends and local boutiques in San Francisco.

If you love men’s fashion, you must get cozy with ROLO.  They were one of the first men’s boutique to open here in 1986 and have spearheaded in introducing brands we know and love such as G-Star.  Other brands they carry are Nudie Jeans, Tovar, Acne, and SLVDR.  You can find ROLO boutique in the bustling Castro district and another in the trendy SOMA district.

ROLO continues to bring their customers only the best in niche fashion items; check out these handcrafted, wooden sunglasses by Shwood!  They’re one-of-a-kind, made in a workshop in Portland, Oregon.  Aren’t they cool?  You won’t be able to find them on ROLO’s website, so be sure to call them for more details!

I’m also digging the Tovar collection, also carried at ROLO.  Tovar was created in LA by designer Torrence Yeung.  He was inspired to create his line based on, “traveling and the jet-set era of modern explorers.”  His goal is to have every piece work no matter where you are in the world. Very very cool.
